During a recent meeting of the Board of Directors, Stowe Performing Arts thoughtfully weighed the risks of presenting concerts with the disappointment that comes from cancelling a fully-programmed and exciting season. Ultimately, for the health and safety of all involved, the organization made the difficult, but not unexpected decision to cancel the 2020 concert season.

Although this was heart-wrenching for the members of the Board of Directors and me, our disappointment was tempered by the fact that we made the only logical and responsible decision. Everyone involved with Stowe Performing Arts believes in the power of music, especially live performances. While that won’t be possible this summer, we will present music – on some platform – over the course of the summer, even as we plan for 2021.

Stowe Performing Arts will be part of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming, virtual Summer Festival Tour. Details for this and additional events can be found in the Stowe Reporter, Facebook, Instagram, Front Porch Forum and this website.

Seán Heely Celtic Trio

Seán has created a wonderful playlist for the event at noon. Meanwhile, listen to his message for Noon Music fans.

Experience the magic music of Scotland and Ireland with the Seán Heely Celtic Trio. The group features U.S National Scottish Fiddle champion and award-winning Irish fiddler Seán Heely, All-Ireland Men’s Singing Champion Kevin Elam, and acclaimed bagpiper Tracy Jenkins. The three gents bring together multiple different instruments to perform fiery dance tunes and ancient, soaring melodies from Scotland and Ireland. They perform original compositions and have rich vocal harmonies in their solid song repertoire that features ballads, sea shanties, and songs in Irish and Scots Gaelic.

Sean plays fiddle, mandocello, shruti box, and sings in English, Irish, and Scots Gaelic. Kevin plays guitar, whistle, banjo, and is an All-Ireland Men’s Singing champion. Tracy plays highland pipes, border pipes, and whistle.

The link for this event will be posted here at 11:55 this morning, or tune in on Stowe Performing Arts’ Facebook page.
